Melissa Hunt (she/her)
MA, Registered Psychotherapist
Melissa takes an authentic, client-centered approach to psychotherapy, creating a judgment-free, safe environment. She believes there is no one single approach to therapy. Whether you are new to therapy or experienced, mental health takes continued attention as we, as humans, are dynamic and ever-changing.
Melissa understands that there are times in which therapy is difficult and sad, but also allows space for fun and humour. When taking a therapeutic journey, it is important to have accountability; Melissa enjoys being the “hammer in which the clients use to build their house”. She is truly passionate about mental health and excited to help others heal and embrace their true selves.
Melissa is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). She earned her Master’s of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. She is clinically trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and draws upon other modalities from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, Rogerian Positive Psychology, Gestalt Psychology, and Motivational Interviewing.
Melissa works primarily with adults in individual therapy to address issues such as, anxiety, depression, grief, anger, self-esteem, relationship issues, trauma, and chronic illness. Whether you are nervous to start or you’re looking for a check-in, Melissa is ready to meet you where you are and help you progress to where you want to be.
