Karen prioritizes a compassionate and client-centered approach in her work. She believes in collaborative treatment based on your individuality because she understands that there is no ‘one size fits all’ approach to human beings.
Karen’s therapeutic style can be described as warm, authentic, and active. Karen promises to meet you where you are on your journey. She will listen to your concerns, help clarify your direction, and provide you with practical and effective skills to suffer less and live more.
Karen is a Registered Psychotherapist with CRPO and earned her Masters of Science in Clinical Psychology from Acadia University. She holds extensive experience working with individuals, couples, and groups from many different walks of life, utilizing her training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and Prolonged Exposure therapy (PE). Over the past decade, Karen has helped countless people overcome their struggle with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, addictions, separation/divorce, chronic illness, trauma, and relationship issues. Karen’s passion for research in occupational health and evidence-based practice has only grown over the years, as she’s currently working towards becoming a Psychological Associate with the College of Psychologists of Ontario.
