We work collaboratively with you to identify what is important and customize our plans to meet your specific needs. Suffer less and live more RIGHT NOW.

Evidence-based therapy

At a time when people are searching for the most efficient and effective mental health solutions available, we provide access to treatment that is backed by scientific evidence and favourable treatment outcomes. That is why each of the providers at ACTion Psychotherapy is trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

This innovative and dynamic cognitive-behavior therapy holds decades of research that documents it’s effectiveness across a wide-range of psychological concerns: depression and anxiety to chronic pain and trauma disorders to relationship challenges. By training and supervising our providers to offer ACT treatment we commit to providing our clients with leading-class treatment options.

At ACTion psychotherapy, we are keeping current of innovation in the treatment space so you don’t have to. While psychotherapy itself is not new, the integration of psychotherapy with technology has become a new reality. We offer both in-person and telehealth options to our clients, which means that the choice of meeting in the office or the comfort of your own home is yours to make. We integrate telehealth video technology in a safe and secure manner, ensuring your information is kept confidential and private through the security of our platforms.

Telehealth is only one step towards the innovation of integrating psychotherapy and technology. We are also leading the way in using technology to promote growth and self-efficacy by taking “what you learn in session” from your therapist and making it available on our website. We recognize the value of taking the skills and new strategies learned in our counselling session and making it accessible 24/7. The iACT portal on our website allows instant access to all of our ACT content with the intention of giving our clients the resources to learn a new skill and experiment with it outside of the therapy session. The choice to take the keys to the shiny, metaphorical ACT car and hop in the driver’s seat is yours.

ACTion Psychotherapy conceptualizes experience not only in the quantity of years in practice, but the quality of clinical experience working with diverse populations. All of our clinicians have worked in a variety of settings, including private, rehabilitation, and not-for-profit, as well as short-term (i.e. 6-12 sessions) and long-term treatment models. From our collective experience, effective treatment often begins with an assessment to better understand “what is coming up” and “why” so collaboratively we can figure out “what do we do with it.” We design treatment plans catered to your specific-needs and based upon your unique strengths.

Compassion is our business. It is at the core of who we are and why we entered into the business of helping others. This shared value means that clinicians who practice at ACTion Psychotherapy take our work seriously and demonstrate understanding and validation through every step of treatment – from getting your account set up to ensuring adequate space for therapeutic closure. In fact, ACT and mindfulness-based ‘acceptance’ models are based upon a foundation of compassion; not trying to change who we are, but bringing awareness to our parts of being so we can show ourselves compassion when they show up. ACT is all about compassion.

ACTion Psychotherapy provides professional support for issues related to mental health when it is needed. That means that it is one of our missions to reduce the wait times between referral and initial consultation with a skilled ACT-trained clinician to 1-2 weeks. There are plenty of deliveries that we have to wait for in life – starting your road towards recovery shouldn’t be one of them.
