Evidence-based therapy

That's why each of our clinicians at ACTion Psychotherapy have been trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), among additional evidence-based therapy approaches.

ACT is a mindfulness-based, dynamic cognitive behaviour therapy that holds decades of research to support it’s effectiveness across a wide-range of psychological concerns, including depression, anxiety, chronic pain, trauma disorders, and interpersonal relationships. At ACTion psychotherapy, we strive to provide clients with ease of access and convenience when they use our services.

We offer both in-person and telehealth options to our clients, which means that the choice of meeting in the office or the comfort of your own home is yours to make. We use PHIPA and PIPEDA-compliant software for our telehealth appointments to ensure that you access care in a safe and secure manner, and your information remains confidential.

Access to psycho-educational material and information that could benefit your mental wellbeing is important to us. We hope to offer insight and education on relevant topics in mental health that you may access at any time through our blog and resources page.


ACTion Psychotherapy conceptualizes experience not only in the quantity of years in practice, but the quality of clinical experience working with diverse populations. All of our clinicians have worked in a variety of settings, including private, rehabilitation, not-for-profit, as well as short-term and long-term treatment models.

From our collective experience, effective treatment often begins with an assessment to better understand what is coming up for you, and why, so collaboratively we can figure out what we do with it. We design treatment plans catered to your specific-needs based on your unique strengths.

At the core of our treatment is genuine care and attention given to building a secure therapeutic alliance. Research shows that the therapeutic relationship is the strongest predictor of successful outcomes in therapy. In other words, our therapists care about getting to know you, and not simply applying one-size fits all techniques.
